The New KnitAlong

This is so exciting! We are a group of knitters, living on the Kansas Prairie (Wichita) who found each other at our local yarn shop - Twist - http://www.twistyarnshop.com. The original Prairie Style Wrap is on display at Twist and we knew we wanted to knit it! So Shelly - Twist's owner allows us to meet there the second Saturday in each month to sit, chat, knit and learn. Our knitting skills vary but the wrap is a great project for all levels. We'll learn together and add some tips from our experiences! We'll post pictures as we progress and hope to have others join use in cyberspace to knit the same wrap.
The pattern is at the Nan's Knitting web site http://www.nansknitting.com and available as a large.pdf file. You can purchase the file, pay at Paypal and download immediately. One thing we learned early was that it is a large file and some printers don't handle it very well. Once you have saved the file, print it only a few pages at a time. We have also learned how to read the graphs, right to left for right side - knit side and left to right for wrong side - purl side.
Some history of the design - since we know the designer! It was inspired by the work of a famous architect and originally named for this designer - _____Wrap. However, using that name ended up not to be acceptable from a copywrite perspective. So since the architect is known for the prairie style architecture, a new name was chosen - the Prairie Style Wrap!
Follow our progress and come join us!
